What is doujinshi?
Doujin are
generally fan
comics, independently published by small groups (see 'circle' below), 99.9% of the time
Japanese. Assume
all of my books are in Japanese unless otherwise stated. o_O
What
does _________ mean?
You may come across a lot of terms in dealing with doujinshi that you
are not familiar with. Here is a brief overview.
Shounen-ai = literally 'boy's love'
(romance between boys)
Yaoi = Slash (homosexual activity between males)
Gen = General (no overt romantic pairings)
Circle: This is the group who published the
doujin. Sometimes a circle is just one artist, and sometimes it is
a compilation.
G, PG, PG-13, R (or M), NC-17 (or X) - These are ratings
based on content. G is considered suitable for a general
audience.
R and NC-17 may continue anywhere from subtle to overt sexuality and
violence.
Where
can I buy doujinshi?
Well, you can buy a few books from me (*shameless plug*),
but I also have a list of online retailers here.
There's a bunch
of weird symbols on your page. What's going on?
You probably don't have Japanese enabled on your computer/in your
browser. Try tweaking your language settings and it
should
work out.
Are any of these
in English?
Generally, no. There may be one or two (such as Lillithium's)
which are in English, but most of them are in Japanese. If one
is in
English (or any language other than Japanese, for that matter), that fact will be mentioned in the description. Also, there
are
scanlations (translated scans) for some of them available. I have
linked to those in their individual descriptions.
Do you collect
doujinshi from other fandoms?
Sort
of. I have a few Ouran Highschool Host Club
doujin (most of which
I am willing to sell or trade if you are interested)
and a few
InuYasha
doujin, most of which are Sesshoumaru-centric (some of which
are also available for sale or trade). Be
sure to
check out their respective sites!
Who are you?
Well, I'm
flattered that you asked! I'm a Harry Potter freak who spends too much
time on the internet (don't we all).
